el Bait Shop was opened on April 17^th, 2006, by seven local owners.  el Bait Shop’s décor is extremely eclectic, with 107 beers on tap, over 100 in bottles, a working shower, taxidermied animals, breweriana, and giant patio.  The Bait Shop has over 100 American Micro-brews on tap, which make it the biggest of it’s kind in the world!  Beers from breweries in Maine to Oregon and many in between as well as several beers brewed here in the great state of Iowa!  The menu is full of Mexican favorites with a twist, all our meat is smoked on site to give our classic dishes a new spin.  We also have barbecue on special every day with great priced specials from our menu.  The Bait Shop has won “Best New Bar”- Cityview and is one of Esquire Magazine.com “Best Bars in America 2007”.   el Bait Shop is a great place before and after the I-Cubs game, a great place to go when your not interested in spending a fortune for great food, and the perfect stop off before or after a bike ride with 26 bike racks.
